Gretchen Schields
Gretchen graduated from the Art Center College of Design and was an award-winning fashion, editorial and advertising artist. Her enchanting pictures illustrated two popular children’s books and the Emmy award-winning animated TV series “Sagwa”created with novelist Amy Tan. Gretchen began making jewelry in 2000, and soon developed her brand of opulence and ethnographic styling. Handcrafted Bohemian Tribal and Asian Jewelry is her passion. “I construct my jewelry with multiple storylines of color, texture, and patterns. Earrings reflect the flash of the wearer’s eyes, opening her ear to secrets. Wear the necklace over your heart – it adds its voice to yours, adornment with the power to enhance your own wonderful story. I need to have all my colors - beads, pearls, fabrics, ethnic and Asian artifacts – on hand, and my studio is an overflowing pantry of jewelry supplies."
All of her work are one-off pieces. Every piece is an unique story-telling.
